Founded in 2020 during the midst of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Nascent emerged as a response to the need for comprehensive educational resources and opportunities that would equip young Nigerians with the skills, knowledge, and mindset to thrive in all areas of their lives. At a time when the world was grappling with uncertainty, a group of nine visionary individuals – Toby, Daniel, Kelle, Chibụzọ, Ifeanyị, Chineye, Cj, Gideon, and Augustine – united to create a platform that would bridge the gaps left by formal education and empower young minds to unlock their true potential.
Our Mission:
Nascent Education and Development Initiative is committed to fostering human capital development and social progress among young Nigerians. We believe that through educational resources, personal development, and community engagement, we can create a generation of informed and empowered individuals who contribute positively to society.
Our Journey:
Our journey began with our first webinar on June 13, 2020, where we guided teenagers and young children through the often overwhelming process of self-discovery and career exploration. Witnessing the profound impact on the faces of our participants, we were inspired to continue these monthly webinars. Over time, our topics expanded to cover personal development, financial intelligence, nation-building, health, culture, and everyday issues that resonate with young Nigerians. Recognizing the potential for a larger movement, we officially adopted the name “Nascent Education and Development Initiative” in July 2021. This step marked our commitment to building a family of enlightened young minds who are not only change-makers but also achievers in their chosen endeavors. Our vision was further solidified when we obtained our official certificate of incorporation from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC/IT/NO 161232).
Community Service Initiatives:
Nascent Education and Development Initiative is not confined to virtual platforms. We are dedicated to making a tangible impact on our society. Our inaugural community service project, the “Nascent Voter Education Project,” aimed to educate and encourage active participation in the 2023 general elections. Through outreach efforts and advocacy, we reached out to ordinary individuals in streets, marketplaces, motor parks, and shops, emphasizing the importance of voting and informed decision-making. We believe that an informed electorate is crucial for the development of our nation.
